Pathos Sub
Pathos Pro Spearfishing began with Angelos Michalopoulos’ desire to revolutionize the speargun. The concept originated in 1996, fueled by his passion for the sea and fishing. “Pathos”—an ancient Greek word meaning passionate, intense emotion that binds the soul—reflects the brand’s driving force: pushing limits and perceiving the world beyond.

Since 1970, the founder’s family has crafted marine equipment, including masks, fins, and snorkels. The first Pathos speargun launched in 2000 featured a groundbreaking inverted trigger mechanism that delivered superior ergonomics and performance, earning rave reviews from world champions during the 2002 Champions League of Kassos. This innovation sparked renewed evolution in speargun design.
Pathos partnered with Italy’s Effe-sub, resulting in over 12,000 spearguns, 5,000 handles, and numerous accessories sold across Europe and beyond. Continuous improvements include embedded drivers on rigid pipes, open muzzles, ergonomic handles evolved from D’Angelo I to D’Angelo II, eliminating dead space and shortening shafts without sacrificing performance. All spearguns use durable Sandvik stainless steel shafts and floppers known for exceptional toughness and memory.
In 2006, Pathos innovated again with lightweight foot pockets that enhanced blade performance, setting them apart from competitors. The 2007 launch of the LASER series introduced compact, powerful spearguns with the new D’Angelo II handle and the first inox reverse trigger mechanism.
2014 saw the debut of the Sniper and Sniper R models, blending the power of wooden guns with the advantages of aluminum—featuring enclosed tracks, mild-forming aluminum tubes, and Sepia floaters for unmatched precision.
Today, Pathos offers a full spearfishing range: spearguns, wetsuits, carbon fins, waterproof bags, foot-pockets, branded apparel, and accessories with distributors in 64 countries worldwide. Proudly manufactured in Greece using premium materials sourced exclusively from Europe, the US, and Japan, every product reflects meticulous craftsmanship and a deep passion for the sea.
The Neró line—named after the ancient Greek word for water—embodies the importance of water for life and environmental responsibility. Neró carbon blades and 2mm wetsuits are designed for freedivers and underwater enthusiasts who value safety, comfort, and top performance. Pathos encourages everyone to cherish and protect water, our planet’s precious resource.
